Community support
Find support or help shape what comes next
Moore Than Arthritis is working to develop local support connections for people living with arthritis and related long-term health conditions. Whether you are looking for support, interested in inclusive activities, or would like to help develop future provision, we want to hear from you.

Mental health and long-term conditions
Living with arthritis or another long-term condition can affect much more than physical health. Pain, fatigue, uncertainty, changes to independence and the impact on work, relationships and daily life can all affect emotional wellbeing.
Moore Than Arthritis believes people should be able to seek appropriate support early rather than feeling that they must wait until difficulties reach crisis point.
Our support groups provide community and peer connection — a space to talk, listen and feel understood. They are not a substitute for professional mental-health or medical services, and we will always signpost to appropriate professional support where needed.
On 9 October 2026, the UK Government announced plans to move towards earlier, needs-led mental-health support following the independent Fonagy review. The proposals include expanding mental-health support in schools and communities and an ambition for support teams to reach every school and college by 2029. These are government commitments and planned reforms. They do not mean that every proposed service is currently available everywhere.
